Stay healthy, fat free, natural materials only…. In the recent decades, the world have been through a wake up call state, we have become more conscious of our surroundings. We have started to take care of what goes into our body and what goes into the earth more… And we are happy about it!!! … Thanks to the immense accessibility to information, people are able to understand better the consequences of their own actions and, slowly but surely, more people are becoming conscious of what they consume.
One of the trends that has been increasingly gaining attention is consuming “Natural”. For years and years the different industries have used all kinds of chemicals and materials to make products last longer, make their fabrication more practical and many other reasons… And that’s a fact. Many of us have now opened our eyes to the harms of these practices and decided to go for the new organic or natural options, with the food industry being probably the biggest influencer in this, GO MOTHER NATURE!
With that said, there’s still some ignorance and lack of attention to one of our senses, touch. Our sense of touch gets in contact with thousands of substances in a daily basis 😱, with most of them going into our body just as if we were drinking or eating. Off of that point, when in the sleep industry there is definitely an important lack of effort to move towards a more natural landscape.
Our bed, our pillow and our sheets are without a doubt the products to which our body interacts the most on a daily basis, i mean, we spend at least 7h on that every day. With that said, the leaders of the sleep market are all very far away of the natural landscape with “100% polyester” a common finding in their tags. In synthetic bedding products we find chemicals like Polyurethane, Formaldehyde, benzene and many more, all linked to terrible conditions like cancer, asthma, hormone disorders and you could keep counting. (organic vs non-organic fabric graphic)
Natural sleep means leaving your whole body in the hands of products that are not going to make of your bed a chemical capsule. If we think of how it is difficult to breathe for some people when they are in a place full of cigarette smokers, the same can be said with sleep. Natural sleep(linkeado el homepage de la página de sp) give the purity of true rest without our bodies consuming all the chemicals contained in our pillow or our sheets.
As we continue to evolve as a more conscious society, we will learn of the importance of sleep in our life and start taking action to push for a healthier sleep, with hopefully the industry following with products that our body and the environment truly deserves…
So…are you taking care about your sleep?
